Doctors and Staff
At Shaffer Animal Hospital you have more than just a vet, you have a complete veterinary team providing a unique blend of medical expertise.
Doctors
Our doctors are all highly trained and experienced veterinarians who love animals and thoroughly enjoy practicing veterinary medicine.

Drs. Jeffrey and Kendra Shaffer
They are owners of Shaffer Animal Hospital and have been practicing for more than 25 years. They both graduated from Auburn University in 1981. Dr. Jeff has a special interest in ferrets and Dr. Kendra has a special interest in surgery.

Dr. Cynthia Thomas
She graduated from the University of Florida in 1986. She was employed by the Shaffer's at their previous clinic and has felt at home ever since and decided to make the transition over to the new clinic.

Dr. Allison Butt
Graduated from the University of Georgia in 2006. Following graduation she received advanced training through a one year internship in the Boston area. She then moved to the Orlando area with her dog and joined the staff of Shaffer Animal Hospital.

Dr. Sarika Patel
Graduated from the University of Florida in 2008. Joining Shaffer Animal Hospital in June 2008, she instantly felt right at home. She enjoys general surgery and has an interest in cardiology. Dr Patel also likes to spend time with family and friends, and looks forward to traveling when she can.

Dr. Nicole Gerrish
Graduated from Michigan State University in May of 2008 and joined the team at SAH in June. She is a true Spartan at heart, as she also attended MSU for her undergraduate studies. She is excited to bring the latest ideas and techniques to share with her colleagues and clients at Shaffer Animal Hospital. Dr. Gerrish enjoys the variety of cases she sees, but has a special interest in ophthalmology and behavior. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis, going to the beach, and otherwise enjoying all the sunshine state has to offer. She has one domestic short hair tabby cat, Pieces, and a lapdog of a Great Dane, Arlo.
Staff
The employees of Shaffer Animal Hospital know how important your pet is to you. If you are like us your pet is a member of your family. So your pet will receive a lot of compassion from the staff along with the best possible care.

Natalie Hosp CVT/RDH
She became a Certified Veterinarian Technician in 1994 and a Registered Dental Hygienist in 2002. She joined Shaffer Animal Hospital in 1999. She performs professional dental prophylaxis and can help you with the products and information to help prevent or delay periodontal disease in your pet.

Receptionists
They will great you at the front desk and make sure that you and your pet feel welcome.

Technicians
Will assist the doctors in exam rooms, treatment and surgery. They will also provide compassionate nursing care for your pet if they need to stay with us for any reason.

Kennel Assistants
Provide care and attention for your pet while they are staying with us at their home away from home.
